CCN History

The Columbia Council of Neighborhoods is a nonprofit, umbrella organization representing over 100 neighborhoods in the City of Columbia.
Organized in August 1977, The Columbia Council of Neighborhoods is a nonprofit, umbrella organization representing over 100 neighborhoods in the City of Columbia.  Its primary purpose is to promote communications and cooperation among City neighborhoods, leaders and administrators.  The CCN hosts monthly meetings (fourth Thursday of the month) to provide timely pertinent information about safety, housing, transportation and beautification issues.  There is no membership fee but neighborhoods are recertified annually and asked to send representatives to the meetings held at the Eau Claire Print Building.
